TN
That U.S. opportunity is worth a conversation. Explore professional work through the TN pathway.
North Hatley applicants can prepare around who employs them, how a business continues and what an investor record actually proves. Start by identifying the real parties and the evidence available for the proposed US activity. A first review produces three answers for each traveller: the route the facts support today, the document that currently decides it, and the date it can be filed. For a household, the review also states which member is the principal, which are dependants, and which dependant intends to earn and therefore needs a classification of their own.

Compare the real employment, corporate or investment facts before setting the route. The examples used on these pages end in a choice the reader must make: whether a spouse enters as a dependant who may study but not be paid, whether a Mexican-citizen colleague applies at a consulate rather than the border, or whether a manager’s first-year hiring plan is dated firmly enough to make the role managerial. Federal rules are identical everywhere; the records differ.
Choose what brings you here. Leave with a short list of things to discuss—not another long form to fill out.
Start with the true duties and organization.

A staffing offer and customer statement need a consistent professional account; a manager’s departure needs a credible allocation of the work that remains. Gather, in this order, the passport for each traveller and any permanent-resident card; the U.S. offer or transfer letter with duties written out; degrees, transcripts and any state licence or health-care worker certification; the corporate ownership chart if a transfer is proposed; and the invoices, credit agreements and bank statements that trace any investment from its source to the enterprise.

Keep bank events, government decisions and actual work permission apart.
Financed equipment, job-allocation models and official payment messages each answer different questions. Keep their evidence and limits clear. Sequence the steps rather than launching them together: the principal’s admission first, a working spouse’s own admission record before any paid activity, an older child’s student classification before the 21st birthday, and, for a new office, the lease and the first local hires before the extension is due. A milestone missed in that order is rarely recoverable later.
Find your pathwayOrganize the supporting record by the question each document answers. Identify unresolved facts before relying on a proposed work assignment, supplier arrangement or payment milestone. The consultation closes with a written plan naming the route, the deciding record, the person who must issue any correction and the filing date. It also records what the plan does not do: it does not authorize work, does not extend a dependant’s age limit and does not turn a bank transfer or a project receipt into an immigration approval.

Examine the genuine employment and assignment arrangement.
Explain how the qualifying foreign business actually continues and how work is covered.
Assess actual payments, commitments and security rather than the invoice alone.
A bank event does not establish the final immigration permission.
No. TD permits study, including a degree programme, but carries no employment authorization, and a university stipend, assistantship or salary is employment. The spouse needs a classification of their own that permits the work, for example a TN if the duties fit a listed profession with the matching credential, obtained before the first payment.
No. Registered Nurse is a listed profession, but the qualification is a state or provincial licence, and admission of nurses also requires the health-care worker certification. The hospital’s letter establishes the engagement and duties; the licence and certification establish the profession, and the file needs all three together.
