Review the amended obligation, security and operating plan using the final genuine terms.
Recalculate from the changed arrangement
A smaller down payment or new enterprise collateral may affect the capital analysis. Do not retain an earlier investment total merely because it appeared in a previous business plan.
Freeze the old calculation when financing terms change. Obtain the signed amendment, compare the down payment, balance, collateral, guarantees, cancellation provisions, and dates, then update the funds ledger and forecast. A lower payment or new security against enterprise assets may alter what is genuinely committed and at risk. Filing should reflect final terms, not an earlier quote. The revised case must still show treaty nationality, qualifying enterprise ownership, lawful and substantial capital irrevocably exposed to loss, a real business that is not marginal, and investor direction through 50 percent ownership or operational control. E-2 status is not a direct permanent-residence route.
Hypothetical example: a North Hatley forest-inventory drone operator agrees to buy mapping equipment, then receives an amendment replacing her personal guarantee with security over company drones and reducing the deposit. She should recalculate the claimed investment, trace only transferred amounts, and revise cash-flow assumptions. If the smaller commitment no longer supports proportionality, she may renegotiate or delay. Keeping the original figure because it appeared in a draft plan would misdescribe both risk and working capital.
