NORTH HATLEY · GOLD CARD FIELD GUIDE

As a North Hatley applicant, can one family payment mean only one processing fee applies?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

The published processing charge is per person, regardless of how transfers are arranged.

Match the budget to eligible included people

Each eligible included spouse or unmarried child under 21 generally adds a US$1 million gift and US$15,000 nonrefundable processing, including corporate cases; assess any CSPA protection individually. A combined bank transaction does not merge their eligibility or charges.

Prepare a person-by-person schedule even when one bank sends a combined transfer. The principal’s online submission should include every accompanying spouse or unmarried child under 21, and each person incurs nonrefundable DHS processing of US$15,000. Once payment settles, USCIS prompts Form I-140G; vetting precedes any request for that person’s US$1 million United States gift. An included spouse or unmarried child under 21 needs separate identity, relationship, age, admissibility, eligibility, and payment review. The program operates through EB-1 or EB-2 classification and must not be confused with EB-5 investment. Since directions may change, verify official portal requirements again before sending family funds.

Hypothetical example: a North Hatley landscape architect applies with her husband and twenty-year-old daughter, while their accountant proposes one consolidated wire. Their worksheet should assign every processing charge, later gift, application reference, and supporting document to the correct person. The daughter’s age must be assessed on the actual chronology rather than assumed from the shared payment date. Combined banking may simplify transfers, but cannot merge three eligibility determinations or turn one person’s USCIS prompt into authorization for the others.
